My girl and me ...

Sippy cup

We've been working on using a sippy cup for a few weeks now. At first Ava just threw it on the floor, but now she's starting to get the hang of it. If I can only teach her to tilt it up now. :-)

Waking up...

Ava has been a great sleeper since she was about 3 months old. And now she sleeps about 12 hours at night, from 8 to 8.

In the morning she's started taking her paci and banging it against the bed rails to let me know she's awake. Too funny! The first time she did it I ran in there to see what the noise was. Ha!! And sometimes she misses the rail and ends up throwing her paci out of the bed. It took me a while to catch on because for several days I couldn't find one of them. :-)

It's one of my favorite parts of the day: to get Ava up in the morning. I love walking in there and seeing a big smile on her face. I love this little girl!!




And no matter what, she's always got her head in that corner. :-)

Ava {8 months}

(Ava turned 8 months old on August 22.)

When Ava turned 8 months old she was ...

• putting her toes in her mouth.
• only taking three naps a day
• wanting to eat whatever Josh and I are eating
• wanting to be mobile so bad.
• eating plums, pears and chicken.
• FINALLY rolling from her back to her tummy
• loving Peek-A-Boo

Grandmother and Granddaddy visited us at the lake!

Ava loves to sit on the counter and watch Mommy make dinner.

On August 20, Ava went to her first wedding. Mommy's cousin Marie got married.

She was such a trooper the whole night, and so quiet during the wedding.

Ava {7 months}

(Ava turned 7 months old on July 22 ... so this is only a few months late. :) )

When Ava turned 7 months old she was ...

•  really sitting up well
• eating bananas (first fruit), avacado (LOVES), sweet potatoes (LOVES!!), peaches, broccoli
• really fascinated by looking at her toes and other people's toes, tried to eat them, and grabs her own toes when she's laying on her back
• standing while holding on to furniture for a few seconds
• refusing to stay on her tummy; any time I put her on her tummy she'd immediately roll on to her back; and still had never rolled from her back to her tummy

Cousin Levi was born in July 12.



Ava loves to get a bath.

And she loves toes ... no matter whose they are ...

Seahorse and Ava

Ava loves her glowing, musical seahorse. And Mama loves it too because it means she SLEEPS!

Adorable hands

Ava does one of two things with her hands when she's eating. One of them is she clasps her hands together in the most adorable way. She's done this since was born and it's so cute!!
